I did not get into events the way you might expect. I did not have a mentor, a roadmap, or a clear path in. I figured it out by being in the rooms, paying attention, and learning the hard way which lessons actually mattered. Almost ten years later, I'm still in it, still learning, and still convinced the industry makes it harder to break into than it needs to be.

I wrote this guide because nobody handed me one when I needed it, and I think that should change.
